Our heartfelt condolences to the family. Red was a great shipmate and mentor on the Campbell. His friendship, guidance, and projects kept me going when we were geographic bachelors in LA-LB. A dedicated Coastie with a huge heart who was always there for family and friends. It was a privilege to serve with Red and have him as a friend. Jeff Brager CDR, USCG, Ret.

I remember as a child when my dad used to lay on his back bend his knees, and have us sit on his feet. He would then, swing us up and down on his feet and then fling us over his head, holding on to our arms, landing us on our feet. We LOVED that and would take turns doing it. He would also have us stand on his hands and put his feet up for us to grab and do arm raises using us as his "weights". That was such a clever way to exercise for him. WE just thought it was fun and would laugh and laugh while this happened. :D Miss you, Daddy and can't wait to meet you in heaven where you can show me around. <3

I lived on the same street as the Reeds and knew all the kids as well as Red and Tita.My cousins lived next door to them and we all played and went to school together. Red and Tita always welcomed my brother and I into their home. I didn't see Red much when I was younger as he was still in the Coast Guard, but he was always kind to me.Not in a fake I don't really know you but I am being polite kind of way. He must have made a good impression on me because to this day I get huffy if people neglect to mention the Coast Guard when talking of the Service Branches. Love to the Reeds, who have always been like another bunch of cousins. <3

Reds daughter Sara and I became fast friends in 7th grade and I had the privilege of getting to know Red thru the years. He was always so nice and welcoming to me and my family. Red will be missed very much.
