Obituary of Thomas Robert Segle

Thomas Robert Bob Segle went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2009. He was born on September 30, 1922 in Ardenvoir, Washington, to Thomas Louis Louie Segle and Clarice May Clara Maples Segle. He attended school in Wenatchee, Washington, graduating from WenatcheeHigh School. He also attended WenatcheeJunior College and the University of Washington. Bob joined the US Navy and proudly served his country aboard the USS Greenwood, traveling throughout the Pacific from October 1943 to September 4, 1945. Immediately after the war ended, he married his sweetheart of 63 years, Margaret Mary Margie Patterson, on September 11, 1945. Bob was a sheet metal worker and was employed in the heating and air conditioning business.During his retirement, he was active in the ShorelineSeniorCenter, loved to travel in his motor home and enjoyed camping and fishing. He was a member of Good Sam, attended Civilian Conservation Corp meetings and helped with the Special Olympics. A resident of the Shoreline area in Seattle, Bob was a longtime member of St. Marks Catholic Church in Shoreline where he and Margie were active volunteers, helping children at St. Marks School learn to read. Bob also taught rosary making classes and made many rosaries for distribution to church and civic organizations. Besides his wife, Margaret, he is survived by a sister, Betty Blaney, of Mountlake Terrace, numerous nieces, nephews and beloved friends. He was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend and will be deeply missed.
