Obituary of Martha Janet Harwood

Martha Marcie J. Harwood of Lynnwood , Washington , entered eternal life peacefully on February 6, 2009 . She was born April 23, 1918 in Stevens Point , Wisconsin . In 1942 she married Willis A. Harwood at St. Ritas Catholic Church in Milwaukee , Wisconsin . In 1980 she and Willis retired to Renton , Washington . Marcie was a fun loving go-getter who enjoyed traveling, baseball, gardening with a green thumb, being the best cook and baker for any occasion, hopping the bus to Fred Meyer, riding an exercise bike 40 minutes each day, going for walks outside on warm days, reading the Post Intelligencer, watching game shows, mysteries, and the view of Alderwood Mall and the Cascade Mountains from her living room window. Her warm wit and kind, generous spirit will be treasured and remembered by all she knew. She was preceded in death by her husband Willis A. Harwood; son Dennis G. Harwood; mother Frances Janiszewski Gollonik and father John Gollonik of Stevens Point , Wisconsin four brothers and six sisters. Marcie is survived by her daughter Doreen Harwood of Bothell , Washington her sister Germaine Walkush of Stevens Point , Wisconsin as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Becks Funeral Home, 405 5 th Ave. S. , Edmonds , (425)771-1234. A Graveside inurnment will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Greenwood Memorial Park , Renton .
