Obituary of Lillian Mae Knowling

Passed away surrounded by her family, Sunday, November 9, 2008, just 6 days after her 73rd birthday. She fought a long and courageous battle with Alzheimers and Parkinsons. Lil was born November 3, 1935 to Charles and Elma Parks in Moxee, Washington. She graduated from Yakima High in 1953; and in 1954 she married Robert Knowling, together they had three children, Mark, Leigh and Kelly. You never saw Lil without a smile on her face. Lil loved to sew, knit and crochet. She made beautiful quilts for her family that we will cherish forever. She was a very special person and the best friend and mother that anyone could ask for. We all feel truly blessed that she was chosen to be our Mom and friend. Lil worked for KMJ International for 30 years, and considered them her KMJ family and loved them all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Knowling. Lil is survived by her son Mark (Candy) Knowling, daughter Leigh Goodwin and daughter Kelly (Jeff) Hill. She was very proud of her grandchildren, Cortnay (Kendrick) Gray, Melissa and Justin Hill, and great grandson Daevon Bovan. She is also survived by her sisters, Dorris Hunzkier, Lauretta Hedding, her brothers, Wayne and Bruce Parks, sister-in-law Margaret Knowling and her many nieces and nephews. We would like to thank all of the caregivers and staff at Rosewood Courte who have taken care of Lil with love and dignity for the past 2 1/2 years. Family and friends are welcome to join us for a celebration of Lils life at the Edmonds Yacht Club, 456 Admiral Way, Edmonds, Washington, Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 2:00 pm - on. Becks Funeral Home, Edmonds, (425) 771-1234.
