Obituary of Laureen F. Young
Young, Laureen Frances (Givins), Age 90, of Bothell, WA. February 19, 1932 – July 8, 2022.
Celebrating Reen’s life is husband of 69 years, Charles Young, children Vicki (Tomonori) Yoshikawa, Jan (Keith) Johnsen, Stephen (Ellen) Young, LeeAnn (John) Main, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and counting. Reen loved her family, home, garden and crafting. We are grateful to know that Reen is at peace, completely healed with our Heavenly Father.
Laureen was born in Seattle on February 19, 1932. She grew up in Seattle in the Ballard area and graduated High School from Holy Angels Academy. She then worked at the Bon Marche. She met Charles Young Jr. at a dance at the Trianon ballroom Seattle in 1952. They were married on February 14, 1953. Daughter Vicki was born to them before Chuck was stationed in Japan. After discharge they bought a home in Mountlake Terrace where Jan, Steve, and LeeAnn joined the family. In 1968 they moved to their current home in Bothell. Reen was always busy and loved her variety of crafting projects and especially her gardens of flowers which always thrilled the neighbors and passersby’s when in summer full bloom. Reen enjoyed the family expansion of 7 grandsons and 2 granddaughters, 9 great grandsons, 2 great granddaughters, with 1 on the way. Family has always been Laureen’s first heart.
In lieu of flowers, family prefers memorials to cancer cure foundations in Laureen Young’s name.
