Obituary of Servillano Yamat Yumang

Dr. Servillano Y. Yumang, M.D., age 94, formerly of Warren, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 1,2023 in Lynnwood, Washington.  He was born April 20,1928 in Masantol, Pampanga, Philippines to Luis and Marciana (Yamat) Yumang. Servillano leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 61 years, Agnes (née Doyle), 4 daughters: Doreen (Robert) Ross, Elizabeth Yumang, Sharon (Ronald) Creson, and Kathleen (John) Mitchell, 15 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Kaelyn Hope Ross and 8 siblings:  Estelita (the late Luis) Cruz, Anna (the late Pablito) Bonifacio, Rosario (the late Salvador) Torres, Gregorio (Gloria) Yumang, Proceso (the late Bonifacia) Yumang, Maria (the late Ernesto) Hernandez, Artemio (the late Aurora) Yumang, and Eusebia Manese.  He is survived by 3 siblings: Victoria Cuevas, Dr. Norberto (the late Dr. Milagros) Yumang, Elpidio (Pelilia) Yumang, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Servillano graduated from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines, in 1955.  Upon coming to the United States, he served his internship at Newark Beth Israel Hospital. He completed his surgical internship and residency with Youngstown Hospital Association from 1956-1961.  He had a private general surgery practice for 50 years in Warren, Ohio and practiced medicine and/or surgery at several Ohio hospitals including Youngstown Hospital Association in Youngstown, St. Joseph Riverside Hospital, and Trumbull Memorial Hospital both in Warren. He was a past member of Society of Philippine Surgeons in America, Trumbull County Medical Society, and Trumbull Sports Medicine Club.

Servillano lived an active lifestyle; his boundless energy and enthusiasm for life left him the envy of many. He was an avid golfer, jogger, swimmer, and tennis player. He was most joyful near any body of water and spent many hours boating on Mosquito Lake and Lake Milton. He loved the beach, sunshine, and visiting family throughout the country. Most recently, he renewed his passport in anticipation of a sentimental journey to his homeland. Servillano was truly the life of the party and will be missed for his witty sense of humor and unabashed honesty. He loved laughing with his children and grandchildren most of all, and a void will now be left where that laughter once was.
