Obituary of Edward John Sheron

Edward John Sheron, age 87 of Lynnwood, WA, passed away on January 9, 2023.

Ed was born on May 2, 1935 to Edward Walter Sheron & Mary Mildred Ellis in Butte, Montana.  After Ed graduated from Butte High in 1953, he was recruited to play football at the University of Washington and was in Field and Track as a shot-putter.  He studied opera and got his Master’s degree in Education.  He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

Ed was all about Sports!  In high school he was recruited as a catcher for the Dodgers.  His father declined his offer because he wanted him to go to college.  While in Butte, he boxed in the Butte High Smokers, won a belt buckle bronco riding & participated in most sports.  He worked at the rodeo during the summers and at F&S Construction.  He was recruited by the University of Washington football team where he played offensive and defensive lineman.  The Rams NFL team made him an offer but a knee injury ended his career while still at UW.  He could tell story after story about his football career and he loved every minute of it.

After graduating he had many jobs prior to teaching.  He was a King County Sheriff, a Carpenter, worked in Alaska and also in HR at Boeing.  He found his calling in teaching Math, PE, Coaching and drivers ed.  Many years of teaching was at Evergreen Middle School in Everett.

Ed met his wife Shirley Anne Kraushar while attending the University of Washington and they married in 1957 after graduation.  Ed & Shirley went on to have two daughters, Lisa & Alayna.  Almost 66 years together!

After retirement Ed loved working in the yard and growing an extensive vegetable garden.  He loved to tinker and kept himself busy with projects.  Spending time with family, helping raise the grandchildren and telling old football stories were a highlight.

Ed was predeceased by his father “Big Ed” and his mother “Millie”.  He is survived by his wife Shirley Sheron, daughters Lisa Pratt, Alayna Hagen; Grandchildren, Greg, Marissa, Alexandra & Michael; Great Grandchildren Dominic, Amber and his brother Glen Sheron.
