Obituary of John Livingstone Nichols

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Livingstone Nichols, 69, who died at Swedish Edmonds Hospital on October 8, 2021. He was born on March 8, 1952 in Durham, North Carolina to John and Dorothy Nichols. John is survived by two brothers, Arch Nichols (Melinda) from TN, Thomas Nichols (Suzanna) from TX, two sisters, Carol Knight (Douglas) from FL, Kathleen Ando (Gary) from MI and many nieces, nephews and cousins. John served in the United States Marine Corp and was very proud of his service. He was a Vietnam veteran awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Expert Rifle Badge and the Sharp Shooter Pistol Badge. He had traveled to other countries and took many trips throughout the United States. After his service, John worked for the Michigan United States Postal Office, followed by moving to Alaska and working for the Bering Sea fishing operation, and then moved to Edmonds, Washington and worked at Anderson Doors until retirement. He made wonderful friends in Washington and treasured their friendship. Fishing and golfing were John’s greatest joys, and he always enjoyed all the natural beauty of Washington.
