Obituary of Frederick D. Specht

Fred passed away peacefully in his home on December 19, 2021 at the age of 95 with his children by his side. Dad enlisted in the Marines in 1944 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He served his country well and continued to support those who served and are serving now. After the service he met the love of his life, Virginia McGinness at Swansons Pharmacy Soda Fountain where she was working. They were married in 1949 and were married for 67 years. Dad was the pillar of his family whom he loved and cherished above all else. He was an exceptional man and was thought about fondly and respected by all who knew him. Humble, loving, hardworking, devoted and honorable. He will truly be missed. He is survived by his 4 children: Susan Nelson (Ed), Karen Crump (Eric), Rick Specht (Schrelle), and Jana Loewen (Mark); his grandchildren: Angie Cook, Amy Thomas (Scott), Ashley Echelbarger (Tyler), Justin. Crump (Kate), Jordan Crump (Chelsea), Jacob Specht, Madelyn Reiff, (Alex), Andrew Loewen, and Collin Loewen; as well as great grandchildren: Cameron, Jillian Cook, Kaden, Emery, Thomas, Jenkins, Saylor, Nash Echelbarger, Frederick, Waylon Crump and Calloway Reiff. He is now home with the Lord and his loving wife.
