Obituary of Traci Lynn Edge

Traci cared. She cared about people, and family, and friends and community. She cared about personal touches and showing her people they were appreciated. She cared about Christmas cards and hand written (often handmade) thank you cards. She cared about animals, and about the environment. We lost Traci bit by bit, inch by inch over the last few surgeries. She never quit, she didn’t complain, she just kept getting up and fighting. She was brave beyond words, and generous and kind. She spoke up for the environment after getting her degree. She worked at PAWS, she worked and volunteered at church. She lived her beliefs, and when she believed in you, she made sure you knew it. There was nothing better than making her laugh. Traci cared about all of you, whether or not she knew you. She wanted the best for you. She believed in God and loved her family fiercely. Her journey was long and rocky and almost always uphill, she could have been angry and bitter. She could have railed against the unfairness of it all. Instead, she kept on being Traci. She kept on exploring, curious about everything, and participating in any way she could. There’s never been anyone better at getting outraged on your behalf, she had your back. Traci cares, where ever she is and whatever she is doing, she cares about you and she loves you. She is whole again, she is capable and funny. I don’t know why the world didn’t stop spinning without you in it baby sister, and I miss you so much. It is your turn to be free and happy.
