Obituary of Mitchell Charles Aho

Mitch age 52 passed away on Monday, October 27th after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer almost 8 years ago. Mitch was born on April 14, 1956 in Ilwaco, Washington. He was the youngest of 4 children born to Melvin and Patricia Aho. Mitch excelled in both sports and academics in high school and still holds the junior high pole vaulting record at his alma mater, Naselle High School! He played quarterback and was a point guard for the Naselle Basketball Team making it to state 3 out of the 4 years! Mitch was a lifelong member of the Naselle Congregational United Church of Christ. Mitch graduated from WSU in 1979 with a degree in Business, specifically in Real Estate Appraisal, and had a lifelong passion for the Real Estate Field. While at WSU he was introduced to his wife Kathy by his best friend and they enjoyed as Mitch would say 27 Glorious Years of marriage! Mitch worked for King County as an Appraiser for a number of years before changing to Head Appraiser at Benjamin Franklin. He then was in house Appraiser for US Bank before starting his own appraisal business, A D Appraisal in Lynnwood. For the last 10 years Mitch has worked as a Remax agent for Remax Northwest in Bothell. Mitch enjoyed golf, waterskiing, baseball, pinochele, classic cars, coaching little league and his daughters baseball and basketball teams. He was a life long Coug and one of the highlights of his life was being able to attend the 2003 Rosebowl Game in Pasedena! He was also able to enjoy an annual golfing vacation with his siblings and their spouses initiated with Mitchs diagnosis and treasured those wonde memories of time spent with his brothers and sister. Mitch is survived by his beloved wife Kathy, daughters Alicia and Brianna, mother Pat Vernon stepfather George Vernon, brothers Tim, Randy and Phil and one-of-a kind sister Mindy. His brother-in-laws Mark and Brian Dunlap and sister-in-law Heidi Inglis also considered him their brother. He was preceded in death by his father Melvin. He also leaves behind his beloved black labs Cairo Macy. Mitch cared deeply for his family and friends and this unselfish mans passing has left a huge void in all of our lives. That best portion of a good mans life, his many, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love. We would like to extend our thanks to Dr. Tony Back and his staff at SCCA , the physicians and staff at UWMC, his wonde hospice nurse Misty and the rest of the staff at Evergreen Hospice.
