Obituary of Alethea Elizabeth Hessen

9-25-1914 - 10-29-2008 Mickey was born in Duluth, MN to Lydia and Edward Adams and moved to Seattle in the late 1940s. She was a longtime resident of Seattle and then Mountlake Terrace. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Craft. Survived by her husband, Carl Cal Hessen of over 70 years; daughter, Sue Greathouse; grandchildren, Lori Craft, Lisa Spann (Dave), Steve Craft, Jeff Greathouse, and Shelley Delgado (Antonio); and seven great-grandchildren. Mickey retired from the Carnation Co. after 20 years of service. She was involved in Childrens Orthopedic Guilds for many years. Her family was the most important thing in her life and she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Cal and Mickey loved to travel and spent many years in their travel trailer going down south for the winters. They also, enjoyed many years at Lake Connor Park and traveled several times to Hawaii. A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 6 at 6 p.m. at Becks Funeral Home, 405 5th Ave. S., Edmonds, (425) 771-1234, followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 22209 58th Ave. W., Mountlake Terrace. Interment at Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline, WA. Memorials may be given to: Childrens Hospital Foundation, PO Box 50020, MS S200, Seattle, WA 98145-5020.
