Jerry died at home in the company of his loving wife and children on Thanksgiving Day. Born on a homestead in Moore, Montana, his early life was hardscrabble, leaving school at a young age to help support his family as a trapper. He joined the Navy after the attack on Pearl Harbor, serving on merchant marine ships as a signal man, and was sunk not once but twice by German U-Boats. Just days after his discharge he married his wife of 62 years, Martha Lucas. After living in Alaska and Montana they settled in Seattle where he worked in the fishing industry.Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra and Ella Becker, his two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his beloved wife; his children Mike (Tracy), Don (Nancy), Jim, and Pam (Jim Roberts), nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.We would wish for him to rest in peace, but we know that in Dads heaven hell be happiest tending a vege garden when hes not at a jigsaw or a pinochle .Funeral Service will be at 12:00noon, Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Becks Funeral Home, 405 5th Ave. S, Edmonds, WA98020 (425)771-1234.
