A smile occurs in a flash, but the memory of it can linger a lifetime.

Jack, I hardly knew Ione, but you've always spoke so highly of her I feel that I've known her for as long as I have known you. Kathy and I know that without her there will be a big gap in your day to day and if you ever need someone to talk to, day or night, don't hesitate to call.

I will always keep her sweet smile and the twinkle in her eye close to my heart. I wish I knew how to help, I am always bad about these things because I personally would prefer to be alone. But if you need anything if I can cheer your day, make you a meal or help in anyway, please let me know. I love you uncle Jack.

Dearest, both Jack and Ione. There will always be a hole in your heart, one that I hope you can get used to. Remember you are never alone, Lord Jesus is always with you. That is what comforts me many times during my losses. Keep going just day to day. Ione was full of God's grace, and shared it with everyone. May we strive to be as full of grace.I will be here as much as you need me. You have been here for me for a long time now, and I won't forget that.

We'll remember Ione for many reasons and moments over the last 23 years. To say she was special, sounds trite - but she was.. Along with all who knew her, we miss her. The way we will recall Ione the easiest is to see that smile of hers lighting up a conversation. We were lucky enough to see her a few days before she left us to move upward and onward. For a short time that day, she was in a good place and lit up the room with her smile and easy laughter - Ione, we miss you..

Ione sparkled. When I met her, I was an early teen, and I remember thinking: Wow, you can grow up and be cool yet mature, sweet as honey, tough enough to take the realities of life, and beautifully open at the same time! Her honest throaty laugh was my delight. I know the love that flowed through her made a lasting change in all of us, and will remain in our hearts always.
