Obituary of Sonja Oleta Matuska

57 passed away on March 12, 2009 in Edmonds. She was born November 1, 1951 in Rapid City, South Dakota. Her family moved to Edmonds when she was a young child. She graduated from EdmondsHigh School in 1969.Sonja was known for her excellent cooking, impeccable creativity and funny sense of humor. She was giving, always thinking of others and willing to lend a helping hand. She will be missed by all who knew her.She is survived by her husband, John Matuska of Edmonds; three children: Dixie Matuska of Lompoc, CA; Parry Matuska of Edmonds; and Carrie Work (Greg) of Lompoc, CA; and the apple of her eye, Elijah Work of Lompoc, CA. She is also survived by her brother, John Kvernenes of Edmonds, and many in-laws, cousins, and friends of whom she loved dearly.A Memorial will be celebrated on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 11 a.m. followed by a luncheon at EdmondsLutheranChurch, 23525 84th Avenue W, Edmonds.
