Obituary of James Bernard Gloth

Jim, 67 of Seattle, Washington, passed away at home surrounded by his family on March 26,2009, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born September 17, 1941 in Spokane, Washington, Jim was the son of the late Van and Dolores Gloth.Jim was raised in Seattle, where he attended Christ The King Grade School, Blanchett High School, Seattle University and the University of Washington. Jim worked for Albertsons grocery stores where he met the love of his life, Mary Kathryn Fisher Kathy. They were married on July 30, 1971. Jim retired from Albertsons after 35 years of service. Jim and Kathy then opened and operated Island Foods grocery store in Holmes Beach, Florida. He was very active in his community, including chairing the Holmes Beach Beautification Committee. Jim will be remembered for mentoring many young people, his extreme generosity and great sense of humor.Jim is survived by his loving wife Kathy; his sisters and brothers-in-law: Joanne and Dan Boyle, Mary and Bob Belknap, Peggy Gloth-Klein and Jeff Klein, Patty Gloth-Inman and Rand Inman; his father-in-law Stephen P. Fisher; brothers and sisters-in-law Stephen and Julie Fisher, Tim and Virginia Fisher, Kevin and Sarah Fisher, Frank Fisher, Keith and Suzanne Greer; and many devoted nieces, nephews and longtime friends.A Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Becks Funeral Home, 405-5th Ave S, Edmonds, WA (425) 771-1234. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 3, 2009 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 3218 W. Barrett St., Seattle, WA, followed by burial at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery.
