Thank you Shirley for giving me one of my best friends! You must have been a great mom to have raised such a great daughter. Tina, wish I could be there to lend my support. My heart goes out to you and your family. It's been almost 2 years since my mom went on vacation and that's how I like to think of it. A Bon Voyage to our dear ones!

Tina (my oldest and dearst friend),During our childhood some of my best memories are of the time I spent with your family. I remember staying at Lake McMurray and your Mom taking us shopping, but she wouldn't let you get the "small" blue bikini. And she was so nice when she let me drive her car to town during the six months I had my drivers license before you did; even though you would drive over to my home before we headed into town. She was always there for us, and will be missed.

My Dearest Shirley and family,How do I write in a few words what your caring did for me SO many(40+)years ago, growing up 2 doors down in Bryant. At your house,I felt "at home".You and Sam always treated me as if I was your own child.Even after my parents moved to Oso,I always felt out of place and missed Bryant SO much. You truly were my "other" parents. If it was at the lake catching crawdads with Mike,or Neah Bay,I loved you then and love you still. Rest in Peace and be proud dear Mother.Always

I will miss Aunt Shirley soooooo much. I will never forget the great care that Uncle Sam and Cousin Tina gave her in these last few trying years...Now I am sure that they know what a 36 hour day is...So many memories and feelings about what Aunt Shirley meant to me. She was like a second Mom to me and is partially responsible for who I am today..not sure if that is a compliment, but I know she would get a chuckle out of it...She will always be in my heart :)

When I think about Shirley, I realize that she is in quite a few of my memories. My parents and Sam and Shirley bought the Lake McMurry property when it was still a mill, and we spent a lot of time there, supposedly cleaning it up. I'm sure we kids just mostly played. But I remember sitting at the table in the trailer with her and my Mom. And I remember babysitting you kids and making syrup from Mapleine, which I'd never done before, or since, for that matter. My thoughts are with you all.
