Obituary of Kenneth Gary Slawson

Kenneth Gary Slawson was born on May 15, 1964 and passed away on April 26, 2009. Ken was born in The Dalles, OR. He is the son of Don Slawson and Patti (Byars) Slawson.Ken was known for his compassion and love of animals. He had a deep love and devotion to his own pets. He volunteered many hours to multiple animal organizations. Ken loved walking his dog Porsche, traveling abroad and spending time with friends and family.Ken graduated high school from Goldendale, WA in 1982 and continued his education through Spokane Community College 1983-1986. He also attended Edmonds Community College and Washington University 1989-1994. He earned a degree in Data Processing and Programming. Ken spent many years in the insurance industry, in management and data processing and programming. He was currently employed with PEMCO Insurance.He is survived by his father Don Slawson (Goldendale,WA), step-mother Betty Slawson (Union, OR), brothers Richard Slawson (Goldendale, WA), Eric Slawson (Las Vegas, NV), David Mastolier (Homer, AK), Curt McConnell (The Dalles, OR); sisters Nicole Amistani (Reno, NV) and Vonda Teitenberg (Boise, ID); aunts and uncles Paula and Jeff King (Grassvalley,OR), Peggy and Ray Eakin (Clarkston, WA), Jim and Shirley Ingraham (Benton City, WA), Barbara Kinkade (Pablo, MT), Bob Byars, Jr. (Fossil,OR); grandmother Betty Goodwin (Council, ID); and numerous loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Patti, grandmother Peggy Radcliffe, grandparents Curtis and Nora Slawson, and Bob Byars, Sr. Services will be held at Becks Funeral Home, 405 5th Ave. S., Edmonds, WA; 425-771-1234 on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon following. Another service will be held in Goldendale, WA at a later date.Donations may be made in Kens memory to the PAWS organization.Ken, we all love you and we will miss you.
