Obituary of Jean Margaret Shawver

Born January 12, 1945 in Minneapolis, Minnesota; passed away September 21, 2009 in Bellevue, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Dorothy Kruse; sisters, Alice and Connie; and her son, Joey Shawver. Jean is survived by her son, Steven Shawver of Lynnwood; and daughter Lena Howard, husband Michael and grandson, Drew of Stayton, Oregon; and daughter Jennie Johnson, husband Jeffrey and grandchild-on-the-way of Lynnwood, Washington; her brothers John, David and Jim; and her sisters, Kay, Carol and Janet. But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom ones deepest as well as ones most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort - the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person - having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away.
