Obituary of Robert Francis Wilkinson

90%90% Born in St. Paul, MN on July 14, 1925 to Patrick and Grace OMalley Donohue, Bob and his sister were adopted by his aunt and uncle, Roy and Margaret OMalley Wilkinson and moved to Port Orchard, WA where he attended grade and high school at South Kitsap. He played football, basketball and was a member of the track team. 90% During WWII Bob enlisted in the Merchant Marine where he served on ships bound for the South Pacific, Australia, India and Russia. After his tour in the Merchant Marine he attended Central Seattle Community College. 90% Bob worked for Simpson Logging Company in Shelton, and was Warehouse Manager for General Electric Division in Seattle. Following the closure of the warehouse in 1975, he joined the sales department of Nebar Supply. He retired in 1990. 90% He married Glenna Blumstrom on November 8, 1952 and they raised their family in St. John the Evangelist Parish. 90% In 1992 they retired to Sequim where he enjoyed spending time writing and taking classes. He was a member of the Peninsula Driftwood Artists, and Chamber of Commerce Tourist Bureau. Bobs passion was gourmet cooking; he was known for his sense of humor and his terrible puns and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. 90% Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Pound Matz. He is survived by his wife, Glenna; four children, Carrie Wilkinson, Marty Hansen, Roy Wilkinson and Don (Anne) Wilkinson; four grandchildren: Rich Rikard, Sara Hansen, Amanda Hansen, and Patrick Wilkinson; his sister, Judith Wilkinson Johnson and his brother, Michael Donohue and cousins, nieces and nephews. 90% A Memorial Mass was held on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009 at St. Johns Catholic Church, 121 N 80 th Street, Seattle, WA 98103. 90% In lieu of flowers donations may be given to St. Vincent de Paul c/o St. Johns Catholic Church or charity of your choice.
