Obituary of Evelyn Jane Burns

Evie passed away on August 8, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 1997. Evie is survived by her sister, Emily Devine; sons, Michael and John; and grandchildren: Shannon, Brian and Stephanie. Evie was a MCWR (Woman Marine) in WWII, stationed in San Diego, where she met and married her husband in1945. They were married 52 years. She also served two terms as National Secretary of the Woman Marines Association in 1984 1988, and was a member of the Evergreen State Chapter. A Rosary will be said on Wed., Aug. 12 at 7 p.m.; with a Funeral Mass and reception being held the following day, Thurs., Aug. 13 at 10:30 a.m.; all at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 22209 58 th Avenue W, Mountlake Terrace. Interment will follow at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Shoreline.
