Obituary of Elizabeth Metzger

On June 21, 2009, Elizabeth gave up her long battle with cancer and went home to be with the Lord. Elizabeth is survived by 3 daughters, Cynthia St. Clair, Sheila Hooks, and Pamela Somers; 3 grandsons, Travis Pfrimmer, Brett and Alec Somers; 4 granddaughters, Kristen Gardner, Lisa Jensvold, Nicole and Ashley Metzger and 2 great grandsons, Wyatt Gardner and Benson Jensvold. She is also survived by 1 brother, Eugene Kautzman and 5 sisters; Josephine Oles, Tina Marback, Mary Roth, Clara Senger and Eleanor Winterroth. She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence Metzger; son, Jerome Metzger; and 2 sisters, Tillie Weiss and Alvina Steckler. She leaves behind many wonderful friends. Elizabeth was born in Glen Ullin, ND on December 15, 1927. She and Clarence, her husband of 50 years, were married April 1946 and moved the family to Mountlake Terrace, WA in July 1957. Elizabeth has been an active member of St. Pius X Parish since 1957. She was a member of the St. Pius X Ladies Guild and an Auxiliary Member of the American Legion and Elks. She will truly be missed by her family and friends. A Rosary will be said on Thursday, June 25 th at 7:00 pm at Becks Funeral Home, 405-5 th Ave. S., Edmonds, WA. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Church, 22209-58 th Ave. W., Mountlake Terrace on Friday, June 26 th at 10:30 am with Interment at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Shoreline, WA.
