Obituary of Mary Ebeltoft Wynne

Mary was born July 27, 1910 in Richerton, North Dakota and passed away June 21, 2009 in Shoreline, Washington. She is survived by her son Terrance Ebeltoft of Eldorado Springs, Missouri; her brother Anton (Mavis) Wetsch of Killdeer, North Dakota; sisters Teckla Holmes of Yakima, Washington, Lillie (Hank) Alldredge of Melbourne, Florida and Angela Golden of Shoreline, Washington; plus numerous nieces and nephews; grandnieces and nephews; great-grandnieces and nephews, and stepson Chuck and wife Addie Wynne of Edmonds. She loved them all dearly and they all returned their love to her. Mary was the first woman grocery clerk for Safeway Stores in 1941. She applied for the job and they told her no woman could do the work. She asked to be able to try and if she didnt succeed they didnt have to pay her. The rest is history. A Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Becks Funeral Home, (425)771-1234. The Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2009 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 322 N. 175 th St., Shoreline, Washington. The Mass will be followed by a luncheon at the church and burial at Holyrood. In lieu of flowers give a donation to Northwest Harvest or charity of your choice.
