Obituary of George James Wright

Captain George Wright George lived a long exciting life, full of travel and adventure, yet still left us too early on April 11, 2009. George was born 8/17/21 in Larnaca, Cyprus, to a Greek mother and British soldier father, growing up in Jerusalem, Lebanon and Cyprus. George spoke many languages helping him when he joined the British Navy and the Merchant Navy traveling around the world. He lived as Captain on one ship for 12 years, meeting his wife Roberta who also lived on the ship and eventually moving to Seattle, her hometown, raising 3 kids. He then became a Captain the US Merchant Marines, spending a total of 48 years at sea as captain of large cargo ships and oil tankers. After retirement he started investing in real estate, keeping him busy and active. An amazing, giving, generous person, he loved his family leaving behind Theodora (Brian Patneaude), Matthew, and grandkids Wyatt and Evelyn. He was preceded in death by ex-wife Roberta and daughter Katie.
