Obituary of Robert Kornelius Gedlund, Jr.

Loving husband and father, born April 8th 1924, passed away at his Edmonds home April 20th 2009. Bob grew up in Ballard. He was the only child of Clara and Big Bob Gedlund (the tallest man in Ballard at the time). Bob graduated from Ballard High School and served as radioman in the U.S Coast Guard during WWII. After the war he attended the University of WA. He started his business career with Associated Grocers. Later he was head accountant for the Seattle Chamber of Commerce until his retirement in the mid-80s. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Patricia in 2008, to whom he was married for 58 years. They raised five children in Shoreline and moved to Edmonds after retiring. Bob is survived by his children Tom, Dave (Brenda), Janice (Charlie Hill), Jeannine (Ken) Larson, and Denise; plus five grandchildren. Bob enjoyed carpentry, sports (Go Mariners!), and family time.
