Obituary of Morey Faulkner

Morey Kennerley Faulkner Loving sister, grandmother and aunt, Morey Kennerley Faulkner died gently in her bed in Edmonds, Washington, on September 9, 2009, just five days after celebrating her 99th birthday. She died just as she had lived courageously, tenaciously and vibrantly and her life has been a gift to all who knew her. Born September 4, 1910 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to Leonard H. and Celia V. Kennerley, she spent much of her childhood in Mamaroneck, New York. She attended the Merici and Jenny Hunter Schools, earning credentials to teach early childhood education. Throughout her life, she had a special gift for nurturing vulnerable children. In 1936, she married Ferris Faulkner II and subsequently moved to Larchmont, New York. After a lifetime of caring for others in the last months she was tenderly nursed by her care team of Wendy Priest, Elina Yabaki, Mindy Meyring and Shirley Hall and the good people of Providence Hospice of Seattle. Morey Faulkner is pre-deceased by daughter Cynthia, husband Ferris Faulkner II and son Ferris Faulkner III. She is survived by sister Legh K. Priest, granddaughters Katie and Patti Faulkner, daughter in law Mary Ellen Faulkner and nieces Wendy Priest, Morey Grosse and Nancy Valaas. Remembrances may be given to Providence Hospice in Seattle.
