Obituary of Virginia Abbie Proffitt

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother peacefully passed away on December 10, 2008, just 11 days shy of her 90th birthday. Born in Seattle, Washington to Leopold and Bertha Maynard, she spent her childhood on HarborIsland and in the Kent valley where she graduated from KentHigh School. Virginia is survived by her loving husband, James L. Proffitt; her son Dale (Sandra) Proffitt, daughter, Terry (Richard) Smith and her grandchildren Ann D. Proffitt, Ian Proffitt, Alan (Melanie) Proffitt, Abby (Sam) Salsman, Kyle (Jodi) Smith and great grandchildren, Kelsey Severson, Geneve Proffitt and Conan Dexter Proffitt, brother Warren, and sisters Georgia and Eileen, as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends and neighbors. Dont grieve for me now I am free. Im following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard his call; I turned my back and left it all. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 18, at 1 p.m. at Becks Funeral Home, 405 Fifth Avenue S, Edmonds, WA98020; 425-771-1234; www.becksfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made to your local food bank in Virginias name. We love and miss you Grandma!
