Obituary of Shirley Esther Dooley

Shirley E. Dooley, a resident of Edmonds since 1981, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on February 27 th , 2009. Shirley was born in Melrose, Massachusetts, in 1935, the youngest daughter of Comrey and Ruth Dow. She grew up in Malden, Mass., but moved to Seattle in 1967 to begin a new chapter in her life. She married her beloved husband, Patrick Joseph Dooley, in 1969. For the next 39 years, Shirley and Pat lived a happy life together, built two successful businesses together, traveled the world together, and helped raise her stepchildren: Kathleen Dooley, Kristine Allen, Curt Dooley (Shari), and Karen Juhl. Among the joys of her life were her grandchildren: Rachel Dooley, Josh Dooley, Julia Allen, Molly Allen, Shannon Dooley, Cameron Dooley, Eric Juhl (Sarah), Nikki Juhl, Alex Juhl, and her great-grandchildren: Zachary, Elizabeth and Ethan Juhl. For many years, Shirley was a member of the Shoreline Lady Lions and A.S.N.T. She will forever be greatly missed by Pat and the family, as well as her best friend for more than 65 years, Ellie Hanson of Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Donald and Warren, and sister Ruth, and is survived by several nieces and nephews.
