Obituary of Royal Dalhart Nordby

Born May 9, 1930 in Hobart, Washington; died November 18, 2008 in Edmonds, Washington. Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Royal passed away peacefully with his family at his side, after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. He was a graduate of RooseveltHigh School in 1949. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen Jean; his children Rick (Patti), Don, Sue Leimbach and Andrew (Tracey); grandchildren Zach, Dustin, Willi, Kip, Brittany, Kyle and Evan. He loved to spend time with his family, especially with a fishing rod in his hand. He will always be remembered for his quick wit, huge sense of humor and generous spirit. Royal set an example for all of us by never having a harsh word to say about anyone. He also was an outstanding and creative craftsman. He considered the titles Dad and Grandpa as two of his top accomplishments in life. Memorials may be given in honor of Royal Nordby to Childrens Hospital Foundation, P.O. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 3 pm, Becks Funeral Home, 405 Fifth Ave. S, Edmonds, (425) 771-1234. There will be a reception to follow at the family home.
