Obituary of Marie-Jose Helene Wybo

Helene Wybo was born February 16, 1930 ; , the youngest daughter of 10 siblings in Ardooie ; , Belgium. Helene touched many lives with her caring nature, strong spirit and unforgettable personality. She grew up across the street from Pierre Wybo, her childhood sweetheart and the man she eventually called her husband of 51 years. After marrying in Belgium ; in 1957, Helene and Pierre moved to the United States ; with little more than a twinkle in their eyes and a dollar in their pockets. They spent their first years as a married couple in Dallas ; , Texas ; where they started their family. In 1970 they relocated to Edmonds ; , where Helene supported her husband and they raised their family. Helene and Pierre enjoyed their retirement years traveling the world together. Helene loved her Tuesday golf with girlfriends at Mill Creek Country Club and never missed her Wednesday bridge game. Helenes passion in life was her family and for that she was most proud. Helenes special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary included many trips to Lourdes ; , France ; reinforcing her Catholic faith. That unshakeable faith supported her throughout her life and provided Helene and her family the strength needed for her year long fight with pancreatic cancer. Helene passed peacefully with her family at her side Sunday, November 23rd. Helene is survived by her loving husband Pierre, daughter Mary-Pierre (Tom Waiss), son Jan (Robin), her 5 grandchildren, Cole, Ben, Nikki, Jessica and Alyssa, one great grandchild Alexandria ; , and her sister Alice. The Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. ; on Sunday, November 30 th at Becks Funeral Home, 405 Fifth Ave. S ; in Edmonds ; , (425) 771-1234.
