Obituary of Lois Reland Bookey

Lois Reland Bookey, 83 of Edmonds, WA passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 25, 2009. She was born in Renton, WA on December 21, 1925, but was raised in Edmonds, attending both elementary and high school and loved the area so much she ended up living her entire life in Edmonds. Growing up, Lois was very athletic. She enjoyed playing tennis, volleyball and baseball. Lois married Jerry in August of 1947, thus they would have celebrated 62 years together this year. When daughter Reland was born, Lois became a stay-at-home wife and mother continuing that role with daughter Marcy, and in later years, to grandchildren Shaun, Samantha and Preston. Lois would often be found driving one of them to or from school, piano lessons, etc. Lois enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling, and the sun. Lois is survived by husband Jerry, daughter Reland Lashbaugh, granddaughter Shaun (Dean) McCann, granddaughter Samantha (Ryan) Guggenmos, grandson Preston Crouser and great grandson Cameron McCann. A Viewing will be held from 2-7 pm on Wed., April 1 at Becks Funeral Home, 405 Fifth Ave. S in Edmonds; 425-771-1234. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thurs., April 2 at Holy Rosary Church, 630 7 th Avenue S in Edmonds; Interment: Holyrood Catholic Cemetery.
