Stanley Gordon

Obituary of Stanley Charles Gordon

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stanley Charles Gordon, who departed on January 19th, 2023. Stan was born February 18th, 1947 to George Gordon and Jeanette Bernzweig F. Gordon. He is survived by his three sisters, Sandra McClain (Thomas), Lynn McCreary (Richard), and Ruth Baker (Benjamin); and his nephews and nieces, Thomas McClain, BJ McCreary, Molly Bottoms, Kathryn Lynch, Erin Baker and Gregory Baker.

Stan attended and graduated from Lafayette High School, and the University of Kentucky majoring in Entomology. After several years working in the healthcare industry in the Midwest and Seattle, Stan, and his business partner, Steve, created the software company Cortex Medical Management Systems, which is still in operation today. Aside from his dedication to Cortex, Stan was also very passionate about traveling and everything Ferrari.

While Venice, Italy was one of his favorite places to travel, enchanted by the city’s beauty and culture, Stan was always happiest sharing his travels with friends when the opportunity presented. He especially enjoyed being the guide and teaching those with less travel experience. Stan’s love of travel, however, paralleled his love for Ferraris. He very much enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow Ferrari Club friends, always looking for an opportunity to drive his bright red Ferrari 308GTSI. Similar to travel, Stan enjoyed sharing this passion with friends of all ages either through an invitation to a car show, or if fortunate enough, taking a ride with him on a beautiful sunny day.

More family than friend to those who knew him, Stan touched the lives of many. Known for his kindness and generosity, he was able to connect with everyone he met at any age, but his appreciation for youth was especially notable. Often referred to as Uncle Stan by the children he spent time with over the years, he was always willing to help, teach, or mentor when the opportunity presented. Stan’s loving spirit will always be remembered but deeply missed by all who were fortunate to be part of his life.

To celebrate Stan, a memorial gathering will be held at Imperia Seattle in South Lake Union, 3119 Eastlake Ave E. Seattle. WA 98102 on February 26th, 2023 from 1pm-5pm. There will be complimentary parking in the lot across the street from the venue.

In lieu of flowers, Stan would want you to donate to the charity of your choice or give back in some way to those who are less fortunate.

Rest in peace, dear Stan. You will always be in our hearts.
