Obituary of Kathryn Fay Miller

Kathryn Fay Miller (Kathy), Our center of love, family, loyalty, and grace blessed us for over 86 remarkable years. On December 15, 2023, she passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire for generations to come. Born on July 23, 1937 in Seattle, Washington, Kathy’s life journey was a testament to inclusion and family.

Kathy was a student at Seattle’s Cleveland High School when she was introduced to Robert Miller (Bob), from nearby Renton High School in 1953 on a blind date. The rest, as they say, is history. Kathy and Bob were later married over 67 years ago on May 18, 1956.

Kathy & Bob raised “three great kids” Bob, Rick, and Susan. All of whom reside in the Pacific Northwest. Susan and her Husband, Rod graced Kathy and Bob with two grandsons, Roddy and David.

Kathy began her professional life with Ford Motor Company in Seattle, but soon dedicated her life with Bob to raising their three children and becoming an avid volunteer in her community. She served in youth leadership roles in multiple organizations as well actively working with local food banks and charities.

Throughout her life, Kathy worked tirelessly to keep their entire extended family together through regular communications, gatherings for family social events and the holidays.

Kathy and Bob spent most of their lives ballroom dancing recreationally. They even participated in an early dance competition as a part of high school graduation. Round and square dancing were even included in their repertoire for a while.

Kathy’s life, in its entirety, is a testament to the power of love and resilience. Her impact on the lives of those in her community and the love she shared with her family and friends will forever be cherished. The memories of the things she did and the life she led will live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know her.

The family will celebrate Kathy’s life at the Miller home, between Christmas and the New Year. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Kathy’s memory can be made to your favorite animal welfare and/or rescue organizations.

As we remember Kathy, we celebrate a life well-lived, a love well-shared, and a legacy that will continue to inspire for generations to come. Kathy Miller, a loving mother and a beautiful model of inclusion.
