Obituary of Paul L. Weintraub

PAUL LAWRENCE WEINTRAUB lll, loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.  Born November 20, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA to Jeanette Walls Weintraub and Naval Captain Paul Lawrence Weintraub,Jr.

Passed away in Edmonds, WA on February 24, 2024 at the age of 86.

Paul spent his early life adventuring around the world with his Navy family. He attended many schools and after high school graduation he joined the Marines for their 6-month training program.  When the family transferred to Spokane, he enrolled at Washington State University (Go Cougs!) graduating in 1961.  He worked at Boeing for 8 years before moving to work for The City of Seattle and Seattle City Light.  He retired in 2006 after over 34 years in a job he loved.  After retirement Paul and Nancy enjoyed spending their winters in Carefree, AZ, where they made many lasting friendships.

Paul was a people person and made friends wherever he went.  He was an avid reader and history buff as well as a music aficionado, with a particular love of the band The Eagles and he passed these loves on to his children.

His passion was gardening.  He had a P-Patch for years,and when he recently moved to Edmonds and a home with a huge back yard, he spent many hours tending to his dahlias and vegetable garden.

He is survived by his partner and wife of over 40 years

Nancy Hasson; his brother John Weintraub; his four children Jennifer Iverson(Evan) Paul Lawrence Weintraub lV “Skip”(Laura); Tama Hasson (Jeff) and Bonnie Hasson as well as his 6 grandchildren; Joshua, Lucas, Samantha, Sarah, Ivy and Edie.  

Remembrances can be made to NW Harvest, the Edmonds Food Bank or the charity of your choice.

Memorial Services will be held on March 28, 2024 at 2:00 at Beck’s Funeral Home 405 5th Avenue S. Edmonds, WA.
