Obituary of Albert James Cooke

Third born to Agnes and Fred Cooke, on October 3, 1922 in Great Falls, MT. He left for heaven suddenly on April 15, 2009 of a probable blood clot.As a child he moved many times during the depression. After graduating from Queen Anne High, he joined US Coast Guard and serviced in WWII on the USS-WL CAPPS in South Pacific and Europe. While attending engineering school in Baltimore, MD, he met the love of his life Theresa Kowalski on May 28, 1944 and they were married July 23, 1944. He worked in dry cleaning and photography before his career in the Edmonds School Dist. 15; from 1955 to 1982; retiring as maintenance and security supervisor. He helped write a book for Washington Custodial Work. He taught the subject at EdmondsCommunity College. He enjoyed video taping his family and many travels. Albert will be remembered as a man with good old time cowboy ethics. He was loyal, trust worthy, honest, punctual, and patriotic. His word and hand shake were his contract.His family and home were his top priorities and his robust humor will be missed. He was like an old shoe that always fit and you were always comfor with him.He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 64 years; three daughters: Jeanine Oudeans, Rita Harbaugh, Teressa Rice; five grandchildren, Aaron Oudeans, Carissa OConnor, Elliot Cooke Harbaugh, and Daryl James Rice, and Stephen Rice; also a great grandson, Dallas Oudeans; and all family and friends.A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 21 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6511 176th St. SW, in Lynnwood; with Committal following at HolyroodCatholimetery in Shoreline.
