Darlene is one of the enduring ADPI memories that I hold dear. She was a constant, positive presence at the house all through my collegiate years. She made everyone feel like we were special - What a gift she had. And that smile ... She must have touched more people with her everpresent smile than any one of her many other attributes. She will be missed, but remembered by all of us for her service to our sorority.

We were very sad to read of Darlene's passing...we met her and Dave on a river trip from Amsterdam to Budapest traveling with a UW group some years ago. Then we saw them at numerous Husky functions and always enjoyed visiting with both of them. Darlene was such a friendly and gracious lady...our condolences to Dave and their family.

Darlene was my first roomate at the UW sorority. She always seemed to just love me, and be so happy to see me every day. She was truly a friend to all. As the years went by, she always enveloped me in her warm way when we saw each other. I am sad to know she is no longer here.

Darlene always had a big smile and warm greeting for all. We met her at The University of Washington in the early 1950s and a life long friendship began. I talked with her by telephone just a few days before she passed away and her voice " even then " sounded so normal, so warm and cheerful. She even asked about me and my family. Amazing! But that was Darlene. We will miss her too.Stan and Nancy Ruble

Ernie and Marge Pearson wish to express their sorrow at the passing of Darlene. Darlene was an extraordinary friend for many decades. She spent her life in pursuit of making things pleasant for others. Wheather it was cooking a special meal, spending extra time to comfort a student or flashing her characteristic smile to a stranger she did what she could to make the day more special for others. It is our hope that sorrow of the loss of Darlene will soon be buffered by our joy of knowing her.

I was fortunate to work with Darlene at Einstein Middle School. Darlene was the most upbeat, happy person! She had such a positive impact on students and staff! I was a new mother when I started teaching at Einstein and she was so wise, providing needed advice in such a supportive manner! My heart goes out to Dave and the rest of her family. May it be some comfort to you to know how many lives she brightened with her kindness and how many hearts remember her with love.

Darlene was a wonderful friend from Inglewood GC that we shared so many dinners with her and her husband, Dave.Darlene never had a negative word to say about any one, was very optimistic and positive, always smiling and probably one of the sweetest delightful people we've ever known. It was so obvious she loved her family and she was the kind of person that spread joy to everyone who knew her.Our thoughts of her will always be that beautiful smile each time we met them for dinner. I was a classmate of Darlene's. After school we would go to her house and visit and then go to town. I was so sorry to hear of her passing. We spent 12 years together at school, I did get to see her again at our 50th class reunion. Glad that she and Dave had so many happy times together, my sympathy to the family.

Darlene Taylor is the kind of person you remember fondly even several years later. She was one of the alumna advisors to the Alpha Delta Pi sorority at the UW for all four years I was there. I had many professors and others who I came in contact while a UW student, but few remain in my mind as well as the sweet smiling Darlene Taylor. She may be gone, but the memory of her kindness to others remains.

Dear Dave & family,What a Christ centered service for Darlene. The music by Lance and Virginia was a beautiful tribute to Darlene who did always have that twinkle in her eyes and of course a smile. We will miss our talks at Harbor Square and Dave, we pray God's comfort for you and your family.

Darlene was a very special person, I just heard of her passing, and I'm very sad. She will be missed. I know Darlene from Harbor Square, and she would come visit me at my shop, KinderBritches. We talked a lot of DAWG talk, and I know how important her kids, husband and family is to her. I am so sorry, Julie- I know you were so close, like my mom and I. She will be watching the Huskies win this year, all decked out in purple and gold, from above.
