Obituary of Charles Thomas Mayovsky

Charles T. Mayovsky, age 76, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2024 after a year-long battle with cancer.

He was born on June 26, 1947 to Edward and Mable Mayovsky and was the fourth of six children. He graduated from Garfield High School in Seattle. Charlie later worked for the City of Seattle and eventually becoming a Teamster, worked in the beer and wine industry as a truck driver and warehouseman for many years. During this time, he met and married Joyce White and they spent 40 wonderful years sharing life together.

Charlie was a true car-lover and enjoyed a few vintage cars over the years. A favorite was his 55 Chevy. He was a long-time member of the NW Classic Chevy Club and enjoyed the friendships he made there. Another favorite joy for him was doing magic tricks and sharing them with friends and family. He was a kind, loving, funny, and wonderful husband, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed.

One of Charlie's proudest accomplishments early in his life was conquering alcoholism and achieving 47 years of sobriety.

He was pre-deceased by his mother, father, brother Larry, and sister Margaret Steichen.

Charlie leaves behind his wife Joyce; his brothers:  Fr. Fred, SJ, Martin, and Mike; and many nieces, nephews, and loved family members and friends.
