Dennis Busching

Obituary of Dennis Mathias Busching

Dennis Busching, age 83, formerly a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away in Bothell, WA due to complications of Alzheimer’s disease on Sunday, March 6, 2024.

Dennis was born in Valley City, ND in 1940 to Harold and Agnes Busching.  Dennis attended college briefly before joining the U.S. Army.  While stationed in Tokyo, Japan Dennis met his future wife, Hatsumi.  After being discharged from the Army, Dennis returned to Japan to marry Hatsumi and bring her back to the United States.  Dennis then worked road construction for a few years in North Dakota and Montana, before moving to New Mexico.  The mild winters convinced Dennis and Hatsumi to settle in New Mexico and start a family.  Dennis started his career as a construction equipment operator, then transitioned to being a maintenance technician, ending his career repairing large mining equipment.  He was always proud of never being out of work for more than a week after settling in New Mexico.

For recreation, Dennis enjoyed photography, firearms and watching football.  In retirement Dennis added morning coffee visits with his close friend and neighbor John, camping and traveling domestically and abroad to his hobbies.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and Hatsumi, his wife of 32 years.  Dennis had no siblings and is survived by his daughter, Katherine, and several cousins.
